Constructions:Pellerinis one of the originators of toy paper models of any kind. They are also calledconstructions. They are usually in color. The antique models include manyFrench buildings, many foreign buildings but with a particular preference forbuildings in the French Empire, so that Indo-China and North Africa vendu areparticularly well represented. In addition to buildings themselves, there arelots of interior rooms with furniture.

In1796, Jean Charles Pellerin set up the “Imagerie d'Epinal” In France. Printedon Arches paper, pochoir (hand painted using templates) woodcuts of militarysubjects, Napoleonic history, storybook and folk characters, as well as flyersfor businesses and political parties, alphabet literature and other educationalmaterials, riddles, illustrated songs, and paper cutouts were widelydistributed throughout the 19th century.

Provenance:From the residual estate inventory of The Golden Griffin Gallery/Arts Inc.,operated in New York City, New York from the 1950s to the 1970s.In the1950s, the Gallery formed a partnership with Pellerin Imagerie, becoming thesole distributor for Pellerin Imagerie in North America.The Estate is now in possession of the residual inventory.
